Book one-to-one lessons with native Swahili teachers, pay only for the time you learn, and try every new teacher free for 20 minutes.

Learn in four steps

Step 1
Find your teacher
Answer a few quick questions, then browse native Swahili teachers. Read their profiles and reviews, watch video introductions, and see each teacher's weekly hours in your own time zone.
Step 2
Book a time
Choose a time and a length: 30, 60 or 90 minutes. Your teacher confirms, or suggests another time. You can message them before or after you book.
Step 3
Add funds
Top up your wallet through Paystack by card, M-Pesa or bank transfer. Your first 20-minute lesson with each teacher is free.
Step 4
Learn in the classroom
Join from your dashboard at lesson time: video, whiteboard and chat in your browser, with nothing to install. You're charged by the minute, and only while you and your teacher are both connected.

For teachers

Apply
Tell us about your background and how you teach. We review every application, usually within 48 hours.
Step 2
Set up your profile
Add a photo, bio and video introduction, and set your weekly hours. Rates start at $7 an hour and can rise to $25 after 50 hours of teaching with an average rating of 4.0 or more.
Step 3
Confirm lessons
Students book times that suit them. You confirm each request or suggest a different time, and chat with students on the platform.
Step 4
Teach and get paid
Teach in the built-in classroom. You receive 70% of every lesson charge (60% of a new student's first hour), paid out on Fridays to M-Pesa or your bank account.

Is it free to join?: Yes. Creating an account and browsing teachers are free. Students pay only for lesson time, at the rate shown on each teacher's profile. There are no packages or subscriptions.
How do I pay for lessons?: Add funds to your wallet through Paystack, then lessons are charged per minute from your balance. Never pay a teacher directly: payments made off the platform lose all refund and booking protection.
What if I'm not happy with my first lesson?: Your first lesson with every teacher is free for 20 minutes, so you can try before you pay, and if a teacher isn't the right fit, try another at no cost. If something goes wrong in a paid lesson, request a refund from your wallet history within 30 days and our team will review it.
