Why Swahili
A language of more than 200 million people
Swahili (Kiswahili) is spoken across East and Central Africa. It is an official language of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda, and a working language of the African Union. Yet for all its reach and cultural richness, it is still underrepresented in the language-learning world.
We founded Swahili Tutors to change that. As East Africa grows as an economic, cultural and political centre, Swahili is becoming a more valuable skill every year. We want to be the place where the world connects with East Africa through its language.
Teachers across the region have deep knowledge and skill but little access to learners abroad. Swahili Tutors gives them that access, so they can share what they know and build lasting teaching careers.
